How to remove "add video" option from the entire site? | Forum

Hey all,

I would like to remove "add video" option from the entire site, including the status also. Can somebody explain how to do that?

Why?
Users try upload videos just by copy-pasting youtube links.
And to be honest - they are right.
They do not know what is "embed video" and they shouldn't.

Since it is not intuitive - I want to disable this option at all.

How?

Thanks in advance! :)

I think you just have to disable the plugin for embedding videos

Aliia,

Thank you for your answer. But disabling rich media will disable photo uploading also.
I don't want to disable photo uploading as it works great. I want to disable only the video uploading... That's what I mean.

Thanks.

Anonymous,

1. Disable Video plugin - this one is easy and I am sure you've already done this.

2. Newsfeed.
Users can just paste the link when adding new newsfeed item. And system will generate a nice preview without embed code. So you might want to leave "video" icon there.

Please read http://www.oxwall.org/forum/topic/10011 . This topic explains how to remove "photo" icon. With video icons steps are the same.

There should be an option for our members to post videos at the video plugin by just inputting the video URL and not the embed code. Can this be done?
