http://www.oxwall.org/market/specialists why not get someone from here to build you what you want. a new plugin that shows all content posted on the site. Personally i like the way the newsfeed works. Index is for all posts and activity on the site, Dashboard is for posts from friends and people you follow makes perfect sense to me...

But do you not thinks its a bit stupid,Most website do not have a newsfeed on the main home page ,people have no choice in the matter if thy want to use newsfeed  ,it might be ok for you Randel,if you or not looking to have so many members on your website ,im trying to run a pro website ,not making it look stupid.It well put guests off joining your site ,because there is no privacy.Randel all I can say to you mate if you have a newsfeed on your main page ,you can kiss goodbye to lots of guests signing up on your website .And some members wonder why the hell thy do not have so many members.If you want lots of members ,then get lots of good content on your site ,not a silly newsfeed on the main index page

Rose I do not have a newsfeed on my website index page,but I would love to be able to have the full newsfeed on my dash ,and let members decide what thy would like to view.Some people do have newsfeed and its works for them on the index,good luck to them.But for a site like mine it looks so stupid and out of place.I want my index page to look like a pro website ,and get people to join .I cant see the big deal about having a full newsfeed for index and dash ,let people of oxwall decide and not have the choice put upon us all.Lets have a poll on this and let members decide .

just switch page names would be the smart thing to do

It's not that simple Tammy and to everyone its easy solution it shouldn't even be an argument in the admin panel in the newsfeed settings there should be an option to make the dashboard feed public like the index one very simple there is no need for voting because all you will be doing is giving everyone what they want an option to further customize their site but no instead lets just argue and act like we don't see the bigger picture here maybe some of you need another year or 2 trying to make a successful website before you will see pete's point

Please, go to the ow_plugins/newsfeed/activate.php

find these lines:

$widget = $widgetService->addWidget('NEWSFEED_CMP_DashboardWidget', false);$widgetPlace = $widgetService->addWidgetToPlace($widget, BOL_ComponentService::PLACE_DASHBOARD);$widgetService->addWidgetToPosition($widgetPlace, BOL_ComponentService::SECTION_LEFT, 0);
$widget = $widgetService->addWidget('NEWSFEED_CMP_UserFeedWidget', false);$widgetPlace = $widgetService->addWidgetToPlace($widget, BOL_ComponentService::PLACE_PROFILE);$widgetService->addWidgetToPosition($widgetPlace, BOL_ComponentService::SECTION_RIGHT, 0);
$widget = $widgetService->addWidget('NEWSFEED_CMP_SiteFeedWidget', false);$widgetPlace = $widgetService->addWidgetToPlace($widget, BOL_ComponentService::PLACE_INDEX);$widgetService->addWidgetToPosition($widgetPlace, BOL_ComponentService::SECTION_RIGHT, 0);

Then replace the name of the dashboard NEWSFEED_CMP_DashboardWidget' with the name of index newsfeed 'NEWSFEED_CMP_SiteFeedWidget' , then go to your admin panel, deactivate and activate back newsfeed plugin. This should work.

i'm guessing you took what i said the wrong way, it happens so i wont sweat it.

i dont use newsfeed on index, but dont stop me liking the way it's setup. wasn't saying my way or the highway either, just letting you know i liked the way it is and if you didn't you could maybe get someone to help you at http://www.oxwall.org/market/specialists. ;

Nothing more sinister than that.

+1 ross looks like you have put this one to rest.

Why do you need to combine sitefeed with dashfeed, if site feed already shows all activity which is displayed on the dashboard newsfeed?
DeFender
DeFender Nov 23 '15
I don't think that. Sitefeed don;t show hidden groups activity, news only for friends, albums for friends only ... http://u2.hol.es/ two  feeds in dashboard - dash and site. become my friend and you'll see the differences.

Maybe Im not right?

I'm sorry but our default software does not have such functionliaty, this is a custom code modification of the newsfeed plugin, you will need to do that on your own or hire a programmer to do that for you.
