I have a ton of links from comunidadriosdeaguaviva.ning.com that show up under settings/language/BASE and they are built in, so I can't delete them. Does anyone know how to get rid of this? Where did they come from and why?

Thanks,

First scan the computer with a good antivirus programe  because seams like its infected the files as you uploaded them they should not be there

Look in the original files on your computer and see if they are infected

You  can delete them using dev tools: www.yourdomain.com/admin/dev-tools/languages find the key with this domain in search and delete it.

The Ning Website is alive. Just enter: http://ning.com

Here's what Wikipedia says:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ning_%28website%29

It's now an Australian company and the CMS has many features of Oxwall. I'm not suggesting they're one and the same though. It was free but is now monthly subscription and not cheap. If it includes a VPS server, maybe it is.

All sites are sub domains (mysite.ning.com) so maybe the stuff we're finding is from a defunct site.

Update: This is the site from the Wayback Machine: http://web.archive.org/...deaguaviva.ning.com/

It died last year some time.

Hi Ross,

I've the same problem.

What do you mean exactly with dev-tools, it is a plugin?

Thanks,

Urban

Actually the database isn't very clean. Here's a list of junk entries in the language table. It looks like the database came from a test site rather than a development file. I left heaps of listings in because they "may" be used somewhere.

The bottom line is, there's not enough to slow the db down or worry anyone and you're sure to add heaps more as you build your site.

Ning ripped off a lot of people including yours truly.  For years they provided free communities with an option to pay for upgrades.  One bright day they decided to start charging for all groups and then deleted all of the communities who declined to pay.  I would not trust them!

I see this post talks about Oxwall 1.6 but I just installed Oxwall 1.7.2 and this junk is still there.

I know the Keys with the links are junk, but what else? Like there are also Keys with random values like 123123123 or sdfsdfsdfsdf1333 or qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq

Why as for version 1.7.2 all this junk still installing? I don't want to clean it affraid of deleting something that is really neccesary.

What version of Oxwall is free of this stuff?

see my reply here: http://www.oxwall.org/forum/topic/30299?page=1#post-128167

Unfortunately there's no such version which is free of this junk values and keys.
