I tried that myself just to test and no go, also at;
ow_plugins/photo/views/controllers/photo_view_list.html
I tried replacing
{component class="PHOTO_CMP_PhotoList" type=$listType} with
{component class="PHOTO_CMP_PhotoList" type=$listType count=3} set debug, cleared cache, several times, still this is a no go situation.
