Install Oxwall on Hostgator[Solved] | Forum

Hi,

I have been trying to install Oxwall on Hostgator shared but with no luck. I tried through Installatron and get the following error:

! The selected version 1.7.2 is not compatible with the selected install location.

Requirements:
php-pdo-mysql-version-minimum v1 (detected: OFF)

Same is the case with manually uploading the file through FTP:

PDO MySQL missing

I have already check and my PHP.ini file has theses lines in it:

error_reporting=E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE
display_errors=On
extension="pdo.so"
extension="pdo_mysql.so"

Also contacted support who said that PDO is enabled.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Imran, can you upload phpinfo file to your server to make sure that the pdo is enabled? provide the screenshot of that section in your phpinfo.

If it is enabled, please PM me your Cpanel access details, domain and admin details you want to set while installing, I will check the issue.

Imran, Until your phpinfo()'s PDO section contains the mysql like in the screenshothttp://i.imgur.com/fdxNL.png  the PDO is not enabled. It is installed but not enabled. I see in the configure commands contain the command for installation of PDO, however it is not enabled. Contact your hosting provider to resolve the issue, as most definitely PDO is not enabled.

I am using hostgator  and my oxwall 17.2 is fine. it may be because your on a basic account ,you may need to upgrade your hosting account .Some hosts limit the server setup when using a basic account .I uploaded all my files from my old server and installed the DB back up.  If you or still having problems  ,find a free webhost set up your oxwall there ,then download  all your files off the server and also do a db backup.  then upload  your files to host gator ,edit config file  and the install your backup db  .here is a free webhosthttp://www.000webhost.com/ ;

Thank you both ross and Pete, really appreciate the input. I'll contact Hostgator again and if that doesn't work I'll give Pete's method a shot.

Thanks for all the help.

Ross and Pete, I wanted to thank you both for all the help. I took a long time, was side tracked by another project (TechnoBanana.com) but I finally got to having HostGator sort out the PDO issue. Now my Oxwall powered site is finally live: AquariumEnthusiast.com (a work in progress).

Thanks.

Sure, its as Ross mentioned. HostGator had not enabled PDO by default on the shared hosting. However after contacting their support they enabled it.

So if anyone gets the PDO error as mentioned in my first post just contact support to have it enabled.

Thanks for that. I just wonder why they disabled it by default. But good to know you have this all worked up.

Quote from Joseph I suggest Arvixe as far as oxwall goes they have been the very best I have hosted with
You may want to re-think that as of this month:  Incredible hosting and support until now BUT
They, Arvixe were taken over by a conglomerate, EIG, who transitioned all their hosting to cheaper servers, side-lined the Arvixe founder, made lots of mistakes in the process, and now have literally just made the bulk of their support staff redundant to save costs (pulling in people from another company).  My site went down and the support phone has rung busy for days.  No response from support tickets - fortunately site is back, seems a little slower though.  I can see this company going down soon and taking me with it.

I was searching for better host when I came across this thread - would really wait and see how Arvixe shakes out
