I have a running Oxwall site, and had success installing other plugins, but just need some advice on installing this plugin that I bought.
Does the installed plugin pop-up in the available plugins to activate, or does it simply modify the current messaging program.

to answer own question: Plugin uses internal mailing (PM) system. So SMTP question is irrelevant. SMTP is global settings.
