I am very sorry but I have proved that the simple system works Its in place on Code Whacker and many other developers are very happy with the system. Its simple more effective than any of the spam IP blocking software totally eradicates the CPU usage problem. Does not annoy any one.

You know it works Paul. It really does. IP blocking is totally unnecessary its been a problem since day one and will Always be a problem not just because it  blogs people out that should not be blocked  but because of  CPU usage and Disk space on your host server.  

I know you have put in a load of time in on your plugin, sorted out its seen problems but there is no real need to block IP to stop spam.

I am very sorry but  I have proved that the simple system what you explain above its not works in my community site (with only has +2000 users / and an average of about +500 people active perday / averaged over 300 user agents and bots visit / and imagine if more than that)

Olso...I am very sorry but I have proved that the last updated anti spammer works well and not block my site users and the unblocked IP visitor

Temporarily, the solution offered by BOB can be used ...But I also agree on some things that have been said by raden....The burtling traffic website need a good security (watchdog, anti spammer, and of course a good profile question system on sign up)...

About the last updated Anti Spammer was Created by Paul....works on my site...and until know not found the sign in/sign up problems..

I am sorry....what is the connection between porn sites with topics we discussed.....I only want to say...that your simple solution not works in my site.....just that.....In addition, it has been widely recognized by the Online Webmaster if the all machines (such as: search tool, hacker, spam, etc) easier to find sites (whether or not porn sites) that crowded traffic ...

I total believe that blocking IP's is a stupid method to stop spam. But if you also capture the hard drive serial number and Mac Address with the IP address. Then you have a perfect solution. I did a lot of work concerning IP blocking many years ago and know all the damn problems. I was totally amused at the wall.fm problem and believe me IP checking on its own has problems that can not totally be eradicate. The tends to upset the site users, that is the big issue with site owners.

It does not matter how problems have been solved with IP Spam blocking, they will still have a problem. I believe I spoke some many years ago to guys on Wall.fm about all the problems involved in such software, what happened a total mess on wall.fm. Lol

There was even a data base being check when the plugin programer did not have the permission to do so.

It does not matter if its free, that is not the point  

One does not need it and if you do have a high usage site then dealing with the complaints of blocked users builds up becoming an admin time wasting problem. The other point being putting a IP that is also being used by spammers, lets the spammers back in. lol

Holy Moly! First of all this is not the first time you have come around bashing porn sites. What because we have porn on our site it means we automatically see butt loads of traffic.(pardon the pun) You have no idea on just how much harder it is to compete in that industry. Second of all it seems rather odd that for a guy who wants to review all of oxwalls plugins for everyone that you would be so biased to a guy who drops 2-4 plugins a week into our store. As I have stated to others we really don't need anyone coming around here bashing what few developers we do have. If you don't like the plug in that's fine. But I think everyone in the community would agree that Paul has done a wonderful job on his projects and has always been helpful in supporting his projects afterwards. You also mentioned that if you were trying to build a large social network you wouldn't use oxwall. Well then why are you here Bob. This is a place for people that want to Build large social networks. I am sure you may be a lot happier with wordpress.

I'm still getting fake member's joining my oxwall site even after I added a mandatory multiple choice question on my member signup page. worked for a day, but now the malicious script has figured out a way to answer my questions.  Oxwall really needs to look in to this matter and find a serious fix for this issue or it renders this amazing script useless.

Still have no spam on Code Whackers and three other sites and its all to do with the template the spamming agent.
