ITs rtmp.  Stands for Real TIme Messaging Protocol. You will not be able to get this on a shared hosting plan. Joe we have it on our server but we may need arvixe to work some magic before it works properly.

Yes I know! I do not know why I posted it the way I did. I have been up for some long hours and my mind was racing like crazy. I got this topic confused with another topic. Yes you guys are right. But you will need a VPS or Dedicated Server with this also if you want to host your own RTMP. So you are better off going with a RTMP hosting service then a Dedicated or VPS if you are looking for somthing a little more affordable. Dedicated and VPS can run anywhere from $130-350 a month depending on the one you prefer. Make sure to shop around when you are looking for a good RTMP Host as there is quite some competition out there. Sorry all for getting things confused. :-)

This software has special requirements (for the video streaming and live interaction part):
http://www.videowhisper.com/?p=Requirements

Options for the required rtmp hosting:
http://www.videowhisper.com/?p=RTMP+Hosting

For affordable streaming bandwidth we recommend:
http://www.videowhisper.com/?p=Red5+Hosting
Red5 plans are not recommended for archiving or recording.

For commercial production sites where service stability and performance is more important than costs:
http://www.videowhisper.com/?p=Wowza+Media+Server+Hosting
All Wowza plans are on faster 1000Mbs connected servers, more reliable, with extra features like optimized archiving, recording and rtmp stats.

If you want to host yourself you'll need a VPS or Dedicated Server to install Red5. Our staff can provide Red5 installation:
http://www.videowhisper.com/?p=Red5+Installation

If you have a big site or project, you'll probably need a managed dedicated red5/wowza server focused on bandwidth and connectivity:
http://www.videowhisper.com/?p=Wowza+Hosting#dedicated

Does Cpanel Support RTMP?
VideoWhisper.com
VideoWhisper.com Nov 6 '12
CPanel does not include a RTMP service but can be on same physical server with a RTMP server.

On same server you can have regular web HTTP hosting managed by CPanel and RTMP hosting with a supported server (Wowza, Red5, Adobe). This is what we provide for our Red5 and Wowza plans: both rtmp and web hosting - rtmp is managed by our staff and web hosting comes with CPanel.

Don't go through BounceWeb.com if you are looking for an affordable Red5 Server. Although they supposedly Support and even list a Red5 Hosting plan and the server settings are capable they are not Red5 ready meaning you have to install Red5 or any other requirements. I placed a support ticket with them and it has been around a week now and no response since they said they were going to look in to it deeper and have never replied back or will not give me any type of response.

@VideoWhisper.com-
Aren't most Hosting companies that offer a Red5 or Live Streaming Hosting plan suppose to have all that pre-installed if they are offering that specific services.
I am fairly new to Live Streaming servers so I would like to know if the Hosting for it should come pre-configured as the installation for Red5 seems to be pretty complex? I mean I know as for the applications we are going to use with Red5 we need to install but as far as the installation of Red5 I would think the Hosting Comapnies that offer Red5 and Wowza should come pre-configured with that specific configuration. I mean do not get me wrong that BounceWeb.com's services have all the pre-configuration as a Dedicated Server but to specifcally have Red5 Hosting as packages and then it is not even pre-configured sounds like to me a Reseller Company trying to gain clients.

Setup of these applications requires setting up 2 sides: web (oxwall plugin) and rtmp (on a supported rtmp server that must be already setup and working).

This is described on each plugin page from our site.
Make sure you install rtmp side as explained on:http://www.videowhisper.com/?p=RTMP+Applications
And fill rtmp address as explained there rtmp://ip-or-domain/videowhisper .

you can get a rtmp from rtmp hosting at http://hosting-marketers.com/ it costs only $9.95 and allows up to 35 connections to the rtmp. the same plan you can also host your site there with cpanel and 10 giga of web space.

Hosting marketers plans list a maximum of 90 simultaneous users for the top plan.

This suggests the hosting server has a connection of 100Mbps or lower (100Mbps shared) and is probably a VPS.  If there are 5 active sites on that VPS, maximum connections drops under 20 for each.

So these can be used for some testing during development but we don't recommend VPS or budget hosting for live streaming production sites: http://www.videowhisper.com/?p=Requirements#vps ;

We recommend RTMP server running on a well connected dedicated server, preferably with 1000Mbps connection.

actually what you say is wrong, our Hybrid Three supports 450 users:
http://hosting-marketers.com/red5-servers.html

and if you go with Wowza instead of red5 then it supports up to 999users. This last plan is hosted on a 10 giga port.

Let me just add this in here:

Absolutely 100% do not go with Video Whisperer on anything. In regards to their product, it is buggy at best out of the box. The chat room icons over lap, and you can't read the text. Ask them to fix it, and it's an "extra" charge for them to fix their own mistake. Asking them to fix something or answer a support ticket is a whole new subject of ridiculous nature.

Support tickets can go for weeks with never getting answered. I used their plugin on a clients site, and also went with their hosting, and it has been nothing but an absolute nightmare. The site has went down several times, and in doing so I was forced to use their awful ticketing system. Imagine going days with your site down, and not being able to contact anyone at all. They don't work on weekends, so forget about that too. Who offers hosting and doesn't work weekends with at least support services? Video Whisperer, that's who.

They were also hired to do some custom development work for the Video Whisper plugin on the clients site. We thought, "Who better to do the work than Video Video Whisper themselves". As it turns out, JUST ABOUT ANYONE is the final answer, because that is who they in turn hired to do the work. The work was outsourced and done very poorly. When told that it was not up to par, there was no fixing the problems, but instead excuses. We told them before hand that there was already some custom work done to the plugin. While they added new coding in, they did a complete reinstall of the plugin and wiped out all other custom development work that had been done. They said we were responsible and should have had a backup ready. As a beginning developer myself, ANY newbie developer should know they should have back up files if they are doing work to existing code. That wasn't the case for them however, and luckily are original developer did have the common sense to do it for his work.

We had to switch billing info after the site was completed, so that the client would have full control of their site. In the process there was a mix up, and instead of a clean switch over, the site went down for a few days, and again no one gave reply.

If you are looking for a professional approach to live streaming of any sort, I 100% assure you that you will not find it in Video Whisper. I have the support tickets to prove it.

Your hybrid plans which seem appropriate for such service start from $75/mo.
That is in a different price range than what you advertise for $9.95 and plans mention different capabilities.
As listed on our requirements page, those plans are more appropriate for hosting our solution with good performance and reliability on active sites.  Budget plans could also work for testing and development but not on active sites with many simultaneous users and high quality streams.

You are saying that you used this solution, completed the site, sold the project to your client but don't want others to use it.

Your post would be more helpful with better alternatives you used and recommend.

For streaming you can use the plugin we provide http://www.oxwall.org/store/item/358 and compatible hosting (Wowza/Red5/Adobe).

Plugins is free to download an use in trial mode (with some ads and limitations) and for hosting there are multiple alternatives (if you don't want to use our turnkey services).
